Psychological analyses of the neighbour (from Freud to Zizek) suggest the "logical tragedy" of the Judeo-Christian injunction to love thy neighbour "as thyself". The landscape darkens, and curiosity, obsession and suspicion appear as deep forces that overflow the ideology of tolerance, or "safe distance" from the other. Still the neighbour remains largely unknowable, opaque.....

kind-of in response to your beautiful letter to your mom. from that other post-it-note place.

drop in company.

i've slept walk with a clever and boots on ready for -40 weather. along time ago in the prairies. i woke thinking that someone was pushing me off of the wing of a plane / taking a shit in a bathroom cupboard drawer. wtf! "why are you trying to push me off the plane dad?" "how about don't shit in the drawer son!"

people that are my parents friends i guess, i'm not sure they even talk anymore, but at the time you know, the parents of the retard kids who poked holes in my dads speakers are laughing at my dream state, the seriousness with which i view my situation.

cold porcelain forces realities to swap and shift, altitudes lessen until the target is reached and the dream destroyed. inordinate laughter at a cold small ass.

it does take a long time to put back together, especially without contact of any meaningful sort, but your doing a great job. don't stop ever.

does it surprise you that as soon as this picture was painted i gleefully showed it to my neighbors, a married couple, along with their two sons, one five, and one two years old?

both of the boys liked her very much...their mom looked a little worried, but the dad also enjoyed it immensely. i like to think i knew them better than any neighbors i have ever had...

i even ninja cleaned their entire house, every drawer, every cupboard, while i house sat for them when they went on a family trip to south africa...

they were in total shock when they got back and realized i had basically touched and rearranged each and every belonging they owned (although i stayed the fuck out of their bedroom)

this inevitably contributed to their divorce a couple years later.

sometimes knowing judy is seeing into your own soul, a little too much at times even...i hereby commend all those that have tolerated themselves this long... good job!
